This is a song that looks back on being a teenager in Kentucky to remember the joy we mostly took for granted. It zooms in and zooms out, remembers the good times, observes faith and doubt, and mourns for one we won't see for awhile.

That the sun touches first each day
With a cross and a lake and some things we can’t shake
And some things that will not fade away

We’d drive a van down a long, curvy road
But that was a long time ago
Nobody could say where we’d been at all day
